The build enabled a detailed inventory of materials that could be salvaged and reintegrated into the landscape. More than 300 Plants were preserved or relocated, with priority given to a magnificent magnolia, mature beech and fir trees, a large-canopy variegated maple, and London Plane tree. Redesigning an existing pergola for the guest cottage helped connect past and present while honoring the original gardens.
The plant-forward design creates an immersive landscape with cut-flower and rose gardens with framing trellises, a vegetable garden, herb planters, and edible blueberry shrubs dispersed throughout.
Multiple seating areas were created to offer intimate retreats and larger gathering spaces from which to enjoy the gardens, water features, and expansive lake views.
Custom artwork and fabrication create striking visual moments throughout the property. One-of-a-kind gates, trellises, fountains, planters, and stone walls ensure that every element contributes to a cohesive garden design.
